"HPPs ON DRINA RIVER" Višegrad

During all planning time, investigation works, design and performances, estimations of the influence on environment have been made.

This issue has been reviewed and processed through a special part of the project, where all repairing measures against negative influences have been suggested. Design works for repairing negative influences were worked out during construction and in exploitation phase. Great attention was paid to this issue. Estimations and fair compensations for flooded private property had been made before accumulation of the reservoir, as well as for settlements, roads, water, traffic and telecommunication infrastructure. Influence on cultural and historical heritage was taken into consideration. Adequate protection and dislocation was done too.

Influence of the reservoir on the banks was observed, especially on the area of the town of Goražde and surrounding places. Appropriate constructions for annulling of full-system spawning place for production of young trout was planned in order to protect ichthyo-fauna in the water course.

Users of HPP are aware that control and repair of negative influences will be a permanent process about which they have to take care and undertake all necessary activities.
